Tracy Reese Spring 2012
New York Fashion Week
September 10, 2011
Tracy Reese has opted for a relaxed and summery collection for her Spring 2012 collection. All the pieces looked extremely delightful and feminine which is what we need for a Spring/Summer line. Her inspiration was “land of pure delight” and she wanted to achieve a “feminine yet relaxed mood through the juxtaposition of romance and sport, comfort and flattery”.
We saw a spring line full of colour - blues, light greens, orange, and salmon pink just to name a few. The fabric was relaxed and very feminine, everything seemed to flow nicely. She used a lot of floral prints in her designs and even some graphics on a mini skirt. I adored the way she matched the parasol with the print on the dress, such a finishing touch like that adds so much charm to a look and creates a vintage feel. It’s something we haven’t seen so far at Fashion Week, which is surprising because it would be a great trend for SS12.
As the show went on, Tracy had everything that makes a Spring/Summer collection. Including a flowing pearl jumpsuit, a bright pink romper, a nude-toned sheer negligee with lace and matching parasol, and a dress with multiple prints including bright pink floral and green foliage against a blueish graphic background with black and white horizontal stripes that runs on both sides. Tracy also included some oversized knits and jackets which would come in handy when the sunsets and the fire inside is toasting away.
